About Floating

Floatation therapy is a therapeutic wellness experience, truly unparalleled for relaxation, pain relief, improved sleep and so much more.

The world has been enjoying the benefits of floating for over 60 years, founded back in 1954 by a neuroscientist named John C. Lilly. He found that the distraction-free environment of an isolation tank led to incredibly enhanced states of mental relaxation and improved health.

Why Float?

Our Float Pods are designed to eliminate all outside distractions such as sight, sound, tactile sensations and gravity. When floating, you lie in a specially designed 8 1/2 ft X 5 1/2 ft pod filled with 10” of Epsom Salt water solution. The water is heated to skin temperature and, with over half a tonne of Epsom salt dissolved in the water, you are able to float effortlessly without the pull of gravity on your body. You will be left floating in space, losing track of where your body ends and the water begins. This incredibly unique and relaxing experience is for both mind and body, one that cannot be experienced anywhere else on Earth.

As the only float centre in East Anglia, we have made it our mission to make floatation therapy available to as many people as possible. Providing a world – class sensory experience in a relaxing atmosphere, we encourage our customers to transform their lives in accordance with their needs in the Float Pod. This is a place for those of you who are:

What they say

I had a really good experience when I went for my first Float session. I wasn’t sure what it would be like but having done it, I would definitely recommend it to others. You feel truly relaxed inside the pod! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The booking process is easy to do online. Having enjoyed it so much I decided to get a voucher for my girlfriend. I had a few questions about this and the support via email was excellent. I got the sense that Ross valued customer satisfaction and wanted to ensure that a good service was provided!

Just had a great time at my first float. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a great experience. The staff were very welcoming and explained the process well. The massage chair is a good way to start the relaxation process. The pods themselves are bigger than I expected. The water is lovely and warm and you are able to change the light colours or turn them off completely. I’m pretty sure I fell asleep during the session and feel completely relaxed now. The salty water has also made my skin feel really soft. The premises are finished to a high standard and provide everything needed post floating (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hair dryer and ghd’s). The fruit tea and sorbet afterwards is a nice finishing touch. Would definitely go again!

As a 6’4″, 18 and a half stone (+), bearded former rugby player I was a little bit reticent before I arrived for my first float. Would the float pod be long enough? Yes, very much so and in fact I laid out with my arms above my head without touching the end. Would a man of my ‘modest’ stature actually float? Yes again, in fact the feeling of weightlessness was instant upon laying out in the water. The whole experience was relaxing from the moment I walked through the door, from taking my shoes off and walking on the soft carpet, the music, the massage chair (wow!), the float itself (more on that in a few lines time) to the organic tea and sorbet at the end. If I could choose one word to some up my experience, I would say lovely. As for the float itself, it’s difficult to describe without experiencing it. The sensation of weightlessness is extremely relaxing to the extent that old injuries, aches and pains all vanished when I was in there.

Thoroughly enjoyed 90 minutes “me time”. The place is fabulously clean and calm. You start with 5 minutes on a massage chair which I wasn’t expecting but was nice nonetheless then you float for a whole hour! I didn’t think I’d want to turn the light out as I expected to feel a bit claustrophobic but once I’d had my eyes shut and had floated for a few minutes turning the light out was easy – I then proceeded to relax/meditate happily until the music told me my time was up. After a nice shower I fixed myself up in their pamper room (take moisturiser!) and left with a smile on my face.
